SPECIAL THANKS: Varney's Cool Threads Shop could only happen with a lot of support from my ever-patient husband, Rod; many encouraging friends and family; and my wonderful customers.

I joke about being a "fabric-oholic" but there is a lot of truth to it. I love to sew, and a fabric shop is like a candy store to me.

A transplant to Florida (from Gettysburg, PA), after some research, I felt it seemed natural to combine my love of sewing with fabulous, cool products. I love being creative, so that quickly evolved into my Cool Threads Shop, that I launched in 2011. I am still amazed that people actually PAY me to do what I love, especially since sewing is like breathing to me-a very natural thing to do! I purposely keep my shop small, so I can continue to enjoy my passion and take time to create quality products!

Sewing is a joy to me and I put my heart and soul into all the products I make. I am the only one doing the sewing, so please bear with me; I can only sew as fast as my machine allows! I've been sewing for "sixty-some" years, and consider myself to be a very knowledgeable seamstress. I fondly remember sitting on my grandmother's lap while she sewed on her treadle sewing machine. It was there that I learned the basics of sewing and created my first project-a small doll pillow, about 5" square made out of plain muslin. I was 4 years old at the time-my legs were too short to reach the treadle, so Grandma worked the treadle as I guided the fabric. We giggled a lot. Since then, I've made everything from doll clothes, a wedding gown, and Halloween costumes, to a bench-style seat cover for a 1967 Rambler station wagon. Some things I created by using a pattern-many by creating my own design/pattern-and sometimes a blend of both.

My business is based on the belief that my customers' needs are of the utmost importance. I am seriously committed to meeting those needs and providing stellar sewing services and other products that are second-to-none.

Also, I pride myself with impeccable customer service and will provide prompt replies to your questions/concerns. Follow up care is as important to me as the sale itself.

I truly welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver to you the best service in the industry.

Thank you; I will look forward to doing business with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Roberta Varney, Owner
